  • 1.  How to hide the formula bar in the template

    Hi Everyone,

I am looking for some advices on how to hide the formula bar within the template so that the contributor can't see the formulas.

I tried to uncheck "formula bar" under "View" in the excel ribbon. But it seems this solution only applies to my excel instance. If other contributors open the template, but with the "formula bar" checked, then they can see the formulas.

Look forward to hearing some suggestions, thanks

    Hi Xianling,

Can you give this a try? would only apply when the sheet is protected so be good to prevent contributors from seeing fromulas.

    1. Select the range of cells whose formulas you want to hide. You can also select nonadjacent ranges or the entire sheet.
    2. Click Home > Format > Format Cells.
    3. On the Protection tab, select the Hidden check box.
    4. Click OK.
    5. Click Review > Protect Sheet.
    6. Make sure the Protect worksheet and contents of locked cells check box is selected, and then click OK.

    Hi Liam,
Just followed the steps, it works! This is exactly what I want to achieve in the template. We want to prevent contributors from seeing formulas.

    Thanks so much!
